For many people, snowmobiling is associated with the mountains. A little less known is the fantastic snowmobiling in the forest area, where you will find varied nature, forest embedded in fluffy snow, nice little lakes with solid ice, mountains and valleys. The voluntary work of preparing snowmobile trails is a proud association culture, which means that the area offers first-class snowmobile trails. The area is, as mentioned, still quite unknown to many winter tourists, which means that you can drive miles and miles without seeing or meeting anyone else. In Storuman Lapland you can have a unique snowmobile experience.
Snowmobile trails
In the eastern part of Storuman Municipality, the area of Storuman Lapland, there are approximately about 890 km of snowmobile trails that is mainly used by the local population. The trails are managed by non-profit organisations and by paying trail fees to their work, they can continue the work with the trails. There are often information signs at the beginning and along the trail with payment information; it is also possible to pay in advance.
Rent a snowmobile

Guided tours and beginnerfriendly
If you want to try snowmobiling in an easy way, a guided tour can be a good option. Via Storumans Camping you can book a shorter or a longer tour with local guides who knows the area well. The tour starts with putting on the right equipment, warm overalls, shoes and helmets, which is included in the tour. After that, there is a review of safety and driving techniques and a short testdrive, and at last the adventure on the snowmobile trail begins. This is a comfortable and beginnerfriendly way to try snowmobiling for the first time.
Bring your own snowmobile or buy one locally
There is a local snowmobile dealer in Storuman Lapland, Yngvessons Maskin. Here you can buy the very latest or second-hand equipment. You can of course bring your own snowmobile and if it breaks down while you are here, there is a service and workshop nearby, at DN Motor and Yngvessons Maskin.
