Kyrkberget is a great destination for all the family and is usually visited during the snow-free season. On a crisp winter’s day in December, a lovely group of people took a trip there with snowshoes. They are happy to share their experiences and highly recommend a trip to Kyrkberget, even during the snowy winter season.
You can park in the parking space by the side of road E12, near the entrance to the trail up to Kyrkberget. As the road to Kyrkberget is not cleared of snow, there is a sign at the entrance showing where to start your journey. After about 2 km of single track, turn right up a hill to reach the start of the trail to the top. Even if the path has been used by snowmobiles, it is still necessary to use snowshoes or touring skis. For this group, headlamps were also invaluable as it got dark while they were there.
Feel free to bring something tasty to eat. If you want to build a fire, it is a good idea to bring a shovel. Use this to clear the fire pit. You will also need firewood.
Snowshoes can be rented at Storumans Camping. If you’re looking to purchase snowshoes or a pair of touring skis, Utrustad is the place to go.
It’s a good idea to have access to Naturkartan, a map that will help you easily find your way to Kyrkberget.
Have a wonderful day enjoying our beautiful area!
