In 1950, the large yellow stone-clad building on the upper side of the blue E12/E45 road was inaugurated as the Storuman municipality’s town hall.
Since that year, the administrative centre has been located in this central part of the municipality. The town hall is one of the most famous landmarks in Storuman.
Fredens torg – Peace Square
This centrally located square was completed in the 1960s.
In the centre of the square is a fountain decorated with a work called “The Cranes”, made of tin, bronze and copper and designed by Storuman artist Erik Norberg. Erik Norberg was born in 1913 and began working as a lumberjack at an early age, then he started making wooden figures at a very young age and became a well-known woodcarver with many beautiful wooden sculptures.
