En traditionell ”Renaissance Fair” (alternativt ”Faire”) var en gång en hyllning till Renässansen. Där klädde man upp sig i renässanskläder och satte upp en renässansmarknad. Idag har det en lite annan mening. Idag är det ett kärleksbrev till den media där historia och fantasygenren möts. Det kan vara medeltid, det kan vara folktro, det kan vara allt mellan vikingar och riddare till alver och trollkarlar. Det är svärd, pilbåge och magi.
”Ren Faires” har aldrig tidigare funnits i Sverige. Nu är det dags att ändra på det. Tillsammans kan vi skapa historian om hur Renaissance Faires kom till Sverige.
Tänk dig Medeltidsveckan på Gotland, och så lägger du in magi och fantasy i det också. Typ Sagan Om Ringen och mera.
Du kan välja att klä upp dig enligt temat, eller komma precis som du är. Här kan du lära dig att skriva handskrivna brev, eller testa på att skjuta pilbåge. Eller så kan du ta en titt runt i marknaden och se vad som finns att köpa.
Oavsett om du är gammal eller ung, religiös eller icke, politisk hit eller dit, inom eller utanför HTBQ+… Du är alltid välkommen

A traditional ”Renaissance Fair” (alternatively ”Faire”) was once upon a time a praise to the Renaissance. There, you would dress up in renaissance clothing and put up a renaissance market. Today it holds a little different meaning. Today it is a love letter to the media where history and the fantasy genre meet. It can be medieval, it can be folklore, it can be anything between vikings and knights to elves and wizards. It is sword, bow, and magic.
”Ren Faires” have never before existed in Sweden. Now it is time to change that. Together, we can create the history of how Renaissance Faires came to Sweden.
